...to the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) laboratory of the Department of Geography, University of the Aegean.

The GIS lab was established in 1996 with the objective to serve the teaching needs of the Department of Geography.

Since the time the laboratory opened its doors, it has become the focal point of students who are exposed to geographical concepts through hands-on problem solving. Nowadays its facilities are also used for training groups of students in specified topics of spatial analysis.

The GIS laboratory has also served researchers in the University of Aegean by providing expertise and the leading edge in software and hardware technologies.

The Department of Geography, recognizing that the information society is upon us, is committed to maintain and enhance this facility, in order to serve teaching and reasearch on the years to come.
